Maybe I have already talked about this, but i really think this is what design is really for. To bring communities, social classes, people together to make amazing products.

A friend found this! I love the idea of underground everything... Of course, in NY everyone does. Duh. Anyway, take a look!

For all of those (more like us) who grew up following chick flicks as if they were the bible for romantic relationships... no, life!, here's a good article that explains why they're so.... right.

I happen to work in an office where every cubicle is a new small business. So obviously it makes me think that New York is full of Micro-Entrepreneurs, people who have decided that 9 to 5 jobs are not their style, who want to do their own thing. I guess I'm not the only one who thinks so, according to THIS article... I firmly believe that the new thing will be smaller companies, not huge ones that eat everyone. But then again, I'm an architect, I'm allowed to believe that....

You know. I never thought i was the kind of person to like Fiona Apple. She always seemed too angry, too frantic for me. Then someone told me i looked like the kind of girl who loved Fiona Apple and I was almost insulted! But lately - and just because I read a really good article on her (and also a really bad one) i sort of... find myself liking her. Maybe a little, maybe just for today. Sometimes it's alright to be angry and bichin...?
Who will win, WHO?!?!
This article speaks clearly about Mexico's current situation... With campaigns closing today, and headlines of gunshots in Mexico City's airport... Oh dear. "Poor Mexico, so far away from God, so close to the United States..."Tuesday, June 26, 2012
I had the amazing opportunity to see George Lois yesterday, at a conference. He was great in his time, inspired so many and just changed the publishing world all together. BUT what i liked the most, is that he's old now, still grumpy, and basically just loves his wife dearly. I asked him if he had ever double guessed himself, doubted... and he answered with: Whatever i do, i just feel it. It's right, it feels true and strong. I'm sure maybe once he did, but he never showed it, maybe just waited for that one idea that did feel true. It's so inspiring.
Happy Tuesday!
Here's some pretty things for today.
First:
Amazing Architecture Photographer Rafael Gamo and his inspiring pictures. Something to remind overworked architects why we do what we do.
Thank you!

Is it wrong to declare today National Bon Jovi Day...?
Ok, never mind. It's a horrible question.
Ok, I'm declaring today National Bon Jovi Day in MoniLand.Thursday, June 21, 2012
I remember the first time i heard this song. It was summer, and we were in Fresno, California, visiting my cousins and uncles there. I sat with my cousin Kerry to listen to their parents' old albums, which included the Beatles, mamas and the papas, etc. And i became a hippie vegetarian for eight years after that. Anywahy, it's a great song and it makes me think about old-school love... so romantic. So much better than pop songs now...

And this i just had to share because... it's a really good article.
We should, every day, try to leave our comfort zone. And reach out. What is there if not the present to explore?
We should, every day, try to leave our comfort zone. And reach out. What is there if not the present to explore?
Aaand since we're on the inspiring subject....
I can only think that these advances in education could go very far in underdeveloped countries. No more bad teachers, providing, of course, that everyone has access to the internet. I'm sure it's more plausible than we think...
MEXICO.
I have to say, the recent student movement in Mexico gives me chills of happiness. All my college years i wondered why we, the young at that time (jaja!) were not more involved into politics. We are the change, and it makes me so proud of fellow Mexicans to know that something is being done. It is inspiring.
For when you're not happy with your job, here's some good advice. It's not them, it's you!
Ok, sometimes. But this is good advice anyhow. read on...Monday, June 18, 2012

I have a recurring obsession with these furniture pieces. Chunks of wood, cast in Aluminum. Beautiful, poetic, blah blah blah, I happen to just love them passionately and wish for one every day. And a beautiful home to set them in jeje. Enjoy.

And since I'm on the drug related issue with Mexico today...
Here's another one for Meth Lovers. Jeje whoever you are.. out there...
No good.
I read this article the other day... and am really amazed it doesn't have a movie contract yet.
Incredible story. So many things intertwined: Mexicans looking for a better way to make a living, but also basic human (or Mexican) nature to "cheat the U.S. system". Egos at stake. Adrenaline. Oh the rush.

I've been thinking about the end of Facebook too! Please when will it happen ...
read "Expert" article here.
Today I found this.
It seems she's already a recognized "spiritual guide" i guess...?
Anyway, I've just recently.. discovered I really need some of this, and it's been coming to me. In dreams, in blogs, in everything.
And i just loved her TED Talk, so here it is.
